  • Being a leader today is hard, and becoming fully connected is not an easy path to take. We are pulled in many directions, have great responsibilities and there are many people needing our attention, focus and intellect. The challenges are many.

Work and life are integrating more than ever and it can be difficult to find time to prioritise ourselves. Too often “busy” is glorified, so we are over-scheduled and over-committed, and we feel guilty when we take time for self-care.

  • Our mojo helps us show up and be present. It’s our energy that supports us every day. However as busy is the new black, many of us have a mojo that is fatigued, flagging or completely flat.

We’ve glorified being busy to become over-scheduled and over-committed and feel guilty about taking time for ourselves. When we are tired or overwhelmed, we often make choices that are right for others, instead of right for us. With blurred boundaries between work and life, it can be difficult to find time for ourselves.

Join us for this engaging session with leadership communication expert Mel Kettle. We will identify the balls you’re juggling and determine how you can carve out time to put yourself first for part of your day. We will examine what YOU need to do to manage your mojo, so you can prioritise yourself, reclaim some energy and find joy.

  • Self-awareness can be the difference between being a great workmate or a nightmare to work with. We all know what it’s like to work with someone who isn’t self-aware. These are the people who make excuses for their poor behaviour, don’t listen or accept feedback, and blame others for their mistakes.

Most of us think we have a high level of self-awareness, but the sad reality is that most of us do not. Becoming self-aware is all about understanding yourself – your values and priorities, feelings and emotions, attitudes and behaviour. The more you know yourself, the greater your self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence. This also means you are more likely to get that promotion, achieve your goals and positively influence others. And be great to work with!

    Learning Outcomes

    • Discover why self-awareness is so important

    • Consider how your image of yourself might differ from how others see you

    • Gain a greater understanding of what makes you you

    • Learn four practical ways to become more self-aware

    This workshop is perfect for

Leaders and emerging leaders , managers and teams.

  • In today's fast-paced and ever-changing workplace, it's becoming increasingly difficult to maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life. So often we find ourselves dealing with high-pressure situations, tight deadlines, and constantly evolving technologies that demand our attention around the clock.

When we have clear boundaries in place, we have a greater sense of being in charge of our life. Not only do our boundaries protect us, but they also allow us to have stronger relationships, greater independence and less stress and conflict.

However, so often we find ourselves saying yes when we want to say no. We want to be polite or seen as a nice person. We want to avoid conflict. We don’t think anyone else will do as good a job. Too often we put up with poor behaviour, and feelings of guilt or obligation rather than risk offending people by saying no.

In this session, leadership communication expert Mel Kettle will explore the latest research and strategies for setting healthy boundaries. She will share practical examples and tactics to help you understand why boundaries are important, the different types of boundaries and how to communicate your boundaries with clarity and compassion.

    • New insights into the importance of taking breaks, delegating tasks, and saying no

    • Increased confidence and courage to set and communicate your boundaries – and to deal with boundary push-back

    • A wealth of practical tips and tools for managing your workload and prioritising what is really important to you

    This workshop is perfect for

  • Feedback is a concept that can fill even the most senior leaders with anxiety. Research from Gallup indicates that a staggering 99% of employees want to receive feedback, however 3 in 4 managers do not enjoy giving feedback.

It requires clear, compassionate and, often, courageous conversations. We know how easy it is to miss the mark and be accidentally unkind, especially when we are feeling stressed and under pressure.

Mastering deep, meaningful and human connection is essential to giving effective feedback, and to understanding how to use our feedback to improve performance, progress and thrive.

This workshop is designed to support leaders and teams to participate in creating the optimal environment for giving and receiving feedback, guided by growth mindset principles and a deep understanding of how human connection is paramount to effective communication.

    Learning Outcomes

    • An elevated mindset, so you become more comfortable with feedback conversations

    • Increased capability by learning a framework for delivering and receiving feedback in a way that helps build trust.

    This workshop is perfect for

Leaders, and people managers and their teams.

  • Communicating with conviction is the cornerstone of trusted leadership.

When we communicate with conviction our leadership shines through and leaves a lasting impact. We are unafraid to be authentic, which earns us loyalty and trust. We communicate with clarity, confidence and compassion, which motivates, educates and inspires.

Conviction creates change, energises individuals and teams, leads to alignment of values and purpose, and achieves greater results.

Leaders with conviction communicate proactively and strategically rather than constantly reacting to what’s happening around them. They also communicate with heart, by demonstrating empathy, compassion, and a willingness to listen.

This presentation is for leaders who are motivated to create optimal working environments and - through connection - improve their ability to influence, inspire and encourage growth in their teams that will, in turn, lead to greater performance.

  • If you have female staff between the ages of 40 and 55 years, chances are they are going through peri-menopause or menopause.

Symptoms of menopause include brain fog, hot flushes, extreme anxiety, painful periods, mood swings, and fatigue, and almost 60% of women aged 45-55 say their symptoms are having a negative impact on them at work. One in eight women resign from work due to menopause and another two in eight would if they could afford to. This has a huge cost implication, and not only in terms of recruitment.

For many women, menopause is one of the reasons we feel so disconnected at work. However, it doesn’t need to be this way.

Managerial support is critical. A menopause-friendly workplace that supports women going through this natural life transition will have positive impacts on your whole workforce, leading to improved engagement, increased productivity, and a better bottom line.

    Learning Outcomes

    • Learn why now is the time to talk about menopause at work

    • Get a better understanding of what menopause is and how it impacts women in the workforce

    • Gain confidence in how to talk about what can be an embarrassing topic

    • Identify some simple ways to provide support to your staff undergoing menopause

    This workshop is perfect for

People leaders in workplaces with female staff between the ages of 40-55

  • Mel was a gracious guest speaker at one of our International Women's Day events aimed at encouraging people to have uncomfortable conversations in the workplace. Entitled 'What's menopause got to do with me?,' Mel worked collaboratively with us to gather anonymous questions from our people and put together information docs to be made available on our internal sites. The feedback received from the sessions was extremely positive and the experience of working with Mel was simple and straightforward. Looking forward to working more with Mel in the future.
