Power Up Your Year

As I lay awake at 12.30am, 2.30am, 3.30am and 4.30am, all I could think was ‘thank goodness I don’t have much on today’.

These days it’s rare for me to have a sleepless night, but a combination of ghastly humidity, noisy neighbours, overnight storms with cracking thunder, and a horrible cough, has meant my sleep levels have not been optimal for about ten days.

My energy levels have been unusually low, which is not a great start to the year!

Managing our personal energy is essential for maintaining our overall productivity and well-being.

Fortunately for me, the bulk of my low energy days have coincided with being on holiday.

However, with work for me, and probably for you, about to quickly ramp up again, I’ve been thinking about the intentional practices that help cultivate and replenish our energy so we can achieve all the things we want to.

I know you know what you need to do – eat the right foods, establish good sleep habits, manage stress, exercise, take regular breaks, have social connection with others, etc etc etc.

But what happens when things -  you know, like life! - get in the way?

What are some of the challenges or stumbling blocks you might be facing this year?

  • A new business or job?

  • Supporting aging parents?

  • Raising children?

  • Managing burnout?

  • Navigating new relationships in your personal or professional life?

  • Keeping up with the pace of change?

  • Financial stress?

What can you do to fuel your body, mind and spirit, so you have the amount of energy you need to lead and live the life you want? Especially if things start to get off track?
