Indecision prevents progress – and an experiment that failed…
My friend Leanne Hughes and I had a bit of an experiment fail recently. And you know what? It was totally fine. Despite being a somewhat of a public fail!
Leanne asked me if I would be up for being involved in the first Leanne LinkedIn Livestream, where we could chat about curiosity, fear, self-awareness and my book. The idea was that we would go live and record the chat for her to later use as a podcast episode.
I’m always up for a challenge so agreed immediately.
It was a great idea, not a great execution.
I had a tech issues and we both had audio issues. Our listeners could only hear about every third word!
The recording has been saved for posterity – and no it won’t be used for a podcast episode! We’re going to try again. You can watch here if you like – be prepared to laugh!
As Leanne says, we all know indecision prevents progress.
How do you get past the fear of making the wrong decision, to lead change and growth?
The best way is to leap in and give it a go. It might not work, but what if it does?
And if it doesn’t, well, you’ve tried.
My friend Pete Cook loves a good 100 day experiment. Try something for 100 days and if, at the end of that time, you love it, keep going. If you don’t love it, stop and try something else. Your 100 day experiment might not last 100 days, and that’s OK too.
One of my 100-day experiments was to try life with one car instead of two. We really weren’t sure how that would go, but about four years later we are still a one car household, so I’d say it’s gone pretty well.
Have you experimented with something lately?
If not, what could you try?
